What Causes Depression?

Depression is a mental health condition caused by various factors, including genetics, biological and psychological, and environmental factors. Living with untreated depression can lead to more severe health problems.

Symptoms of Depression

  • Loss of interest or loss of ability to experience pleasure in usually enjoyed activities (hobbies, social activities)
  • Sleeping too little or too much
  • Eating too little or too much can cause weight changes, motor agitation, or retardation.
  • Feeling worthless, helpless, hopeless, or excessive guilt
  • Recurrent thoughts of suicide or suicide attempt
  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Difficulty concentrating.
